Job Description:

Scope of Role We're seeking a Senior Data Engineer to build and own our data platform and infrastructure. You will design systems that power transaction processing, analytics, reporting, and real-time insights across our global financial product. You will work on high-integrity financial data systems, where correctness, auditability, and consistency are critical. Our backend is a Python (FastAPI) monolith supported by Lambda, Kinesis, Postgres, Redis on AWS. You will work closely with backend systems to ensure data is correctly captured, transformed, and exposed. You will design and build the systems that capture, process, and serve data across the platform, working closely with backend services and event streams. Parts of this are greenfield, where you will define architecture, data models, and pipeline design from first principles. Requirements 5 years building and shipping data pipelines and platforms Experience at banking/credit card/crypto/remittances/lending startups Experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT, or event-driven systems Experience generally across the backend: working with Postgres, Redis, AWS, etc. Bonuses You might be an especially good fit if you have: Experience in financial technology Full-stack engineering skillset and ability to flex across other parts of the stack
