Responsible for leading the program for managing, tracking and
reporting of company environmental liabilities and associated
reserves; establishing EHS and Business Continuity Planning (BCP)
performance objectives and driving performance improvements in
support of the Diagnostics/BioDevices Platform in Global
Manufacturing and Supply (GMS) as well the Accelerated Growth
Businesses. The role encompasses internal sites and, as
appropriate, key third-party suppliers and contract
Key responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited
to, the following:
* Lead the environmental remediation program for the company,
including setting and reporting on environmental liabilities and
associated reserves, and ensuring the successful execution of
remediation projects. Interacts as need with external stakeholders
(eg US EPA and equivalent, community leaders) to resolve plans for
* Lead a network of site EHS leaders to drive EHS performance,
monitor and report progress. Site EHS leaders report direct line to
their respective Site Leaders and dotted line to this position
* Responsible for all EHS, BCM, controlled substances, dangerous
goods and environmental sustainability programs in assigned
businesses. Includes ensuring programs are matched to risks, are
compliant and that they enable the business
* Responsible for one or more global EHS programs (e.g., Zoetis
Safety Star, industrial hygiene, air, water, waste, occupational,
medical, fire life safety, business interruption).
* Represent EHS on the extended leadership team of
Diagnostics/Biodevices Platform in GMS.
* Partner with business lines to ensure adequate resources are in
place at sites to maintain EHS compliance.
* Perform EHS due diligence in support of acquisition and
divestiture activities. Collaborates with key internal stakeholders
regarding key EHS considerations in transactions.
* Perform EHS review of third-party suppliers and as appropriate
oversee EHS improvements in accordance with risk management
guidelines. Build EHS capacity at selected third party
* Ensure sites have effective business continuity plans and support
global Business Continuity programs.
* Perform EHS reviews for key business decisions (e.g., sourcing,
change requests, capital projects).
* Minimum education of a bachelor s degree in Science, Engineering,
Health, and Safety or another relevant discipline. 10 (10) years of
relevant site EHS supervisory and professional experience.
* Strong experience and track record of EHS performance in
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
* The agile leader in EHS with a sustained performance record.
Technical expert in principles, methodologies, and successful
implementation of remediation and operational EHS programs in a
large, complex organization.
* Excellent working knowledge of US EHS regulations.
* Skilled in EHS due diligence in support of business and property
* Eager to learn and happy to play a role where success means
influencing without authority
