Reporting to the Vice President of Sales & Marketing (VP), the Senior Director of the International Business will have overall strategic and operational responsibility to ensure direct and dotted line alignment and execution of the International business strategy as it relates to the success of the international business unit. The Sr. Director will ensure that Mizuho OSI's mission, vision and goals are achieved while maintaining international business partnerships and cross-cultural relationships with cross-functional support. The Sr. Director will collaborate with and provide leadership to the international business team to cultivate partners and work with the Vice President of Sales & Marketing to improve overall finances, operations, and to achieve revenue goals. This position will be located in our Union City main office.We are looking for you, if you have the ability to:

  • Partner with cross functional departments to identify opportunities for improvement and provide creative solutionsHere is what you will do day-to-dayLeadership & Business Operations:
    • Lead, coach, develop and retain the cross-functional Management team and direct and dotted line reports, gaining organizational alignment and acting as a resource to all staff members.
    • Oversee the day-to-day and overall operations of international entities (APAC, EMEA, LATAM and ROW) with an emphasis on strategic analysis, strategic planning, organizational development, and financial management of the organization
    • Foster a strong collaborative partnership with leadership team who are accountable to ensure consistency and quality of international business, programs, campaigns, promotion, tradeshows, strategic KOL partnerships, and communications to drive international business growth and revenues (i.e., sales and service).
    • Create, review, and approve action plans and timelines for the international teams.
    • Responsible to own, negotiate and maintain contract agreements, (i.e., distributor relationships), use of branding, trademarks and logos for international alignment and stability under the accountability of the VP of Sales & Marketing.
    • Responsible to ensure quarterly international distributor meetings are conducted, dashboards are updated for all Tier 1 and 2 distributors, international QBRM meetings are conducted and ensure that all forecasting data is rolled up to the VPs of Sales & Marketing and Operations.Financial Management & Strategy Planning:
      • Oversee international strategic and annual planning processes including international collaboration, discussion, and documentation.
      • Participate, lead, and support organizational annual budgeting process
      • Oversee the development and implementation of the annual international business unit strategy - identify priority revenue channels, ensure international alignment, and provide support for success.
      • Develop and implement a system for tracking and reporting on the progress of the international strategic plan and the associated annual roadmap that supports a budget.
      • Review and analyze financial reports and guide cross-office international financial decision-making.International Communications & Marketing:
        • In collaborating with Marketing Leadership from HQ, oversee the implementation of Mizuho OSI's brand - ensuring strength, visibility, placement, and a unified brand voice.
        • Work in partnership with Marketing to oversee the implementation of all aspect of International Marketing communications, including Mizuho OSI's online presence and ongoing investment in digital advocacy, community mobilization and promotion, and tradeshow participation as it related to the international business.Development & Relationship Management:
          • Utilize cross-cultural communication to establish and manage current international customer relationships, striving to capitalize on revenue growth opportunities.
          • Cultivate new and existing partnerships with Mizuho Corporations peer positions, to build onto Mizuho OSI's foundations to expand and secure revenue streams.
          • Ensure sufficient resources to support successful relationships/partnerships internationally and maximize synergies for revenue and potential international growth areas.
          • Expand international relationship-building with high-level audiences at strategic and senior levels within customers' organizations.
          • Understand, follow and support Mizuho OSI's internal Quality System policies, procedures and work instructions including but not limited to applicable external regulations (21 Code of Federal Regulations Part 820 Quality System Regulations and applicable International Standards). Position Requirements What you will need to be successful in this role:
            The Sr. Director of the International Business Unit will be thoroughly committed to Mizuho OSI's mission. All candidates should have proven leadership, coaching, business, and relationship management experience.Specific requirements include:
            • Advanced degree, MBA preferred, with at least 10 years senior management experience in the capital med/surg space, OR with Specialty and General Surgical table sector preferred, and or in device and general OR medical equipment areas.
            • Track record of effectively leading local and international scale performance and outcomes-based organization and staff; ability to point to specific examples of having developed and operationalized strategies that have taken an organization to the next stage of growth.
            • Business development experience with expertise in developing and managing an international and corporate partnerships.
            • Unwavering commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation.
            • Excellence in organizational management and ability to collaborate and coach senior leadership, staff, develop and oversee high-performance teams.
            • Strong international sales and marketing relations skills, negotiation experience and the ability to engage a range of stakeholders and demographics.
            • Strong written and verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills.
            • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of partners, staff, and stakeholders.
            • Ability to handle multiple priorities and thrive in a high change, multinational work environment.
            • Positive attitude, mission-driven, action-oriented, and self-directed.
            • International travel, as needed.
            • May or have working knowledge of other languages a plus.What you need to be prepared for:Routine and frequent travel requires driving and sitting in a car for long periods of time. Air travel is also required on occasion. Walking or standing within the hospital and/or its Operating Room areas is routinely required. Bending, kneeling, and stretching may also be required for the operation of capital equipment and for attending surgeries.
              The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to set up or in-service a table. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently push or move up to 150 pounds to uncrate and relocate a table. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and far vision, color vision.Job duties are performed in a hospital Operating Room requiring adherence to the hospitals gowning and sterility protocols, using mechanical parts and tables.
