Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Inventory Control Manager to join our
team. In this role, you will monitor and report on the company's
inventory. Your goal is to optimize inventory handling procedures
in order to support critical business goals. The ideal candidate
has strong analytical and business skills, attention to detail, and
the ability to keep precise records. The Inventory Control Manager
is responsible for controlling the quality, inventory, storage, and
issue of fresh seafood purchases. The Inventory Control Manager
must be able to develop yield percentages on all cuts of fish,
developing orders from projected needs, and evaluating the quality
of all products received. In conjunction with the Senior Buyer,
verify all inventory levels to assure all the Company's seafood
needs will be met.
Responsibilities
Manages and analyzes all aspects for inventory control
management.
Creates inventory optimization procedures
Monitors inventory levels and identify shortages
Manages all aspects for the proper receipt, storage, and issue of
all products; ensuring proper rotation and controls are maintained.
Responsible for ensuring that quality, specification, and proper
weights on all received merchandise are appropriate and up to
standard.
Participates in the proper receipt of all products deliveries at
the receiving cold storages along with warehouse receiving
personnel.
Conducts daily physical inventory of all stock on hand and reviews
same with buyer to assure all customer needs are met on time and
minimize waste.
Controls all routine and special class orders on a daily basis.
Manages the issuance of all product charges through purchasing
system on a daily basis, coordinating with Inventory Control in
ensuring proper inventory counts and controls.
Provides product information to the Sales team relevant to product
needs, usage, identification, yields, and availability.
Conducts all month end inventories, rectifying discrepancies and
accuracy of charges made.
Maintains a working knowledge of all species of seafood purchased,
and their culinary applications in order to assist Sales team in
both product utilization and substitution.
Regularly assesses the facility and production area, ensuring
facilities are orderly and sanitary, and makes recommendations and
executes improvements.
Ensure adequate levels of stock to meet customer demand and place
orders when necessary
Use existing data to forecast future demand
Log shipments and deliveries
Develop relationships with outside vendors and suppliers
Use computer software to monitor inventory levels and demand
Any and all other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, or related
field
Previous experience as an Inventory Manager is preferred
Five (5) years of experience in food service, with some experience
working with seafood.
APICS Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM)
preferred but not required
Strong understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods
Familiarity with inventory management software
Ability to accurately report on inventory
Strong analytical and mathematical skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Highly organized with attention to detail
Working Conditions
Ability to work in cold and wet environment.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Must be available to work nights and weekends as required due to
business needs.
Regular work requires a great deal of sitting and standing for
extended periods of time.
