Therapy, P.C., based in Monterey, CA, is seeking a licensed
Physical Therapist to work in a fun and rewarding environment to
provide a full range of physical therapy services to individuals
(birth to 21) with neuro-muscular and orthopedic conditions, in
Hollister, CA. Physical Therapists are responsible for
administering medically necessary physical therapy (PT) services,
including evaluation, planning, and providing PT treatment as
prescribed by physicians. The Physical Therapist (PT) works
collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team, including
physicians, nurses, occupational and speech therapists, social
workers, nutritionists, and outside agencies to meet the therapy
needs of the children served by the program. Job Qualifications
Performs a full range of physical therapy services with children
from birth to age 21 with eligible orthopedic or neuromuscular
conditions. Administers appropriate tests including range of
motion, manual muscle tests, functional and developmental abilities
tests, sensory and neurological reflex tests. Collaborate with a
multi-disciplinary team to provide comprehensive treatment.
Administer physical therapy treatments in accordance with a
prescription from the orthopedist, neurologist, pediatrician, or
physiatrist. Provide ongoing assessment and documentation of the
childs response to treatment in accordance with state standards.
Provide therapeutic activities to increase strength and endurance
and improve coordination, balance, posture, functional mobility,
and gait. Design and monitor home programs. Recommend seating,
positioning, functional mobility devices and orthotics. Instruct
caregivers in the use of lower extremity orthotics and equipment.
Participate in discharge planning and refer parents to community
services. Determine need for department and patient related
supplies and equipment. Maintain cleanliness and organization of
treatment areas. May participate as a clinical preceptor in a
university-affiliated physical therapy student program. Have a
current license as either a Physical Therapist by the Physical
Therapy Board of California that is in good standing. Perform
related duties as assigned. Skills Instruct others in the use of
the home program. Administer physical therapy treatments. Evaluate
and develop a treatment plan for client. Prepare reports and keep
records of case histories. Communicate effectively, both verbally
and in writing. Provide suitable transportation between work sites.
Lift or assist with lifting children and equipment. Explain and
teach physical therapy activities to children, parents, health care
professionals, local school authorities and other interested
persons. Read, understand and interpret physicians orders and
instructions for therapy and the use of equipment. Analyze,
evaluate and draw logical conclusions from data. Document findings,
progress and recommendations in progress reports and daily running
notes.
