Job Overview
The Senior Director of Technical Procurement supports the VP of Critical Infrastructure Procurement by leading procurement teams dedicated to managing Network Procurement spend. This leader plays a critical role in building and nurturing relationships with senior-level business stakeholders to ensure internal cohesion around high-complexity category strategies that directly impact critical operations.
This role is responsible for all network real estate procurement, which includes cell site leases, Mobile Switching Office (MSO) transactions, and venue and small cell agreements.
The Senior Director understands the priorities of business stakeholders and enables their success by driving alignment of category strategies with business goals. They provide oversight for the development and execution of category strategies driven by the respective category teams and supported by various Procurement Operations teams.

They are expected to build long-term strategies using a combination of deep experience and comprehensive market analysis, including industry forecasts and vendor earnings insights.

Key responsibilities include:
---Delivering against key financial and performance metrics associated with the Network Procurement spend managed by their team.
---Ensuring cross-functional coordination across engineering, operations, finance, and legal to drive value creation and mitigate supply risk.
---Leading tough, high-level negotiations with senior executives, often in complex and high-stakes environments.
---Effectively relaying strategy and updates to C-suite executives within a Fortune 50 company with clarity, impact, and precision.
---Coaching and developing a high-performing team of procurement professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and stakeholder focus.
---Developing future leaders within the organization by aligning them with strategic expectations and supporting their career development and training.
---Monitoring industry trends and supplier markets to anticipate risks and leverage opportunities for cost savings and value enhancement.
---Supporting strategic sourcing initiatives, contract negotiations, and supplier relationship management for network-related goods and services.

Un-carrier - Responsibilities

  • Engage senior-level business stakeholders to align on strategic priorities and drive alignment on high complexity category strategies and category performance metrics.
  • Oversee the development of category strategy and value creation initiatives for to capture intended benefits and drive critical business operations.
  • Monitor overall team performance against category performance metrics and approve mitigating actions as needed.
  • Serve as point of escalation to category managers and Sourcing Execution Excellence team for resolving risks and issues associated with supplier selection decisions as needed.
  • Serve as primary point of escalation in resolving negotiable issues for preferred suppliers.
  • Serve as the primary point of escalation for resolving contract execution issues identified by the Contract Execution Team.
  • Participate in Supplier performance reviews with senior-level business stakeholders for preferred suppliers. Participate in Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) escalation activities as needed.
  • Approve continuous improvement initiatives identified by the respective category managers and the Supplier Management team.
  • Serve as primary point of escalation for issues that arise within.
  • Oversee annual performance management process and long-term career progression of category team members.

    The Experience You'll Bring
    • 10+ years extensive tenure in managing pertinent categories with proven track record for benefit realization across multiple high impact spend categories.
    • 10+ years' experience in leadership roles.
    • 7-10 years consulting procurement transformation experience.
    • 4-7 years extensive tenure in the Telecom industry.
    • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, or equivalent experience required; Master's of Business Administration preferred.

        Base Pay Range: $200,900 - $271,900

        Corporate Bonus Target: 35%

        The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as qualifications and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year.
