At a Glance

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Stockroom Supervisor to join the Lighting Sector Team in Union City, CA. the successful candidate will supervise hourly workers in the organization, storing and distribution and return of materials used in the production of Finelite products. Directly responsible for the efficient start up of daily activities, maintains stock records and schedules, participates in the daily production schedule, ensures safety practices, operator training, and team productivity. Prepares, supervises and initiates the cycle counting program to ensure inventory accuracy. Keep various records of weekly cycle count variances, modification change forms, pick list changes. Ensure compliance to business processes and actively participate in updating and/or developing business processes as needed for continuous improvement.

What Will You Do?

  • Supervise and coordinate personnel to insure completion of daily materials distribution per production requirements
  • Ensure the Stockroom Team completes tasks successfully according to company standards and schedules
  • Effective management of inventory through cycle counts, inventory checks, proper check in/out procedures, etc.
  • Supervise and motivate employees, and administer company policies to ensure compliance in the areas of safety, work habits, attendance and productivity
  • Coach employees on performance improvement up through disciplinary action as needed after consultation with senior management and human resources
  • Leverage the knowledge of Leads and other senior personnel in achieving daily goals
  • Evaluate, recommend and implement measures which result in continuous process improvement
  • Ensure all daily paperwork is completed in a timely and accurate manner, and is turned in for proper transactions
  • May assist management in the administration of performance appraisals by providing input on individual employee performance
  • Execute disciplinary action as needed after consulting with Director of Manufacturing, appropriate HR personnel and COO
  • Ensure communication throughout stockroom and with Receiving and Production partners.


Required Skills


  • College degree a plus or equivalent work experience


  • 3+ years of experience supervising warehouse and/or stockroom employees in a manufacturing or warehousing environment. Experience with hiring, performance management and disciplinary matters required


  • Lean and/or APICS Certification a plus. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
  • Clean DMV record, Experience Forklift operations (sit down/stand up)
  • Must be proficient in MS Word and Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated history of "team commitment / team building skills"
  • Excellent problem solving ability is critical
  • Must be self-motivated with a passion for continuous improvement
  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Able to climb ladders and use hand and pneumatic tools
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. using proper lifting techniques may be required
