Sandia reserves the right to extend the posting date at any time.What Your Job Will Be LikeWe are seeking a driven Hardware Technologist to join our diverse and growing Hardware Assembly and Functional Electrical Testing team for the W80-4 and W87-1 Warhead Modernization Programs!Are you a sharp Technologist who can handle a wide variety of roles and responsibilities in a dynamic work environment? Are you energized by the thought of contributing towards a new program in a National R& D Laboratory? In this exciting role you will be performing a variety of tasks including hardware support and integration activities for system development and qualification. In addition, you will collaborate with engineers who are responsible for requirements, design, assembly, and qualification. This position also involves participating in onsite operations daily.On any given day, you will be called on to:Inventory high-value assets and hardware using an in-house tracking databaseVerify released engineering data and actively collaborate with systems, component, quality, and manufacturing teams.Research and resolve inconsistencies with design, production, and/or materialsPack and coordinate shipping of both hardware and test articlesKit hardware according to engineering documentation for assembly and electrical testingConduct monthly audits to maintain accuracy and accountabilityQualifications We RequireHigh school diploma plus three or more years of directly relevant experience; or equivalent combination of experience and educationAbility to travel up to 25% to support program needsSelected applicants will be required to take a Job Placement Assessment before beginning the job to ensure that they can perform the essential physical requirements, with or without accommodations.Ability to obtain and maintain DOE Q clearanceAbility to work on site dailyQualifications We DesireAssociate degree in Manufacturing/Production Planning or engineering field of studyExperience with nuclear weapon design, development, qualification, or productionExperience working with classified and hazardous materials/hardwareExperience working in laboratory and field environmentsActive DOE Q-level security clearanceProficient computer skillsAbility to work both independently and in a team environmentSelf-starter who takes the initiative to track down inconsistenciesAbout Our TeamOrganization 8264 is part of the California team leading the W80-4 LEP.
