Job Summary
Under the direction of the Digital Communications Director and the
Digital Communications Supervisor develop, implement, maintain,
monitor, and measure social/digital content for UC Davis Health to
elevate the brand of the organization locally, state-wide and
nationally. This position works closely with all areas of the
Public Affairs and Marketing team, as well as other departments'
staff and faculty throughout UC Davis Health, to promote and
leverage news and information via social/digital media. The
incumbent will monitor and measure the efficacy of content and work
with other social media staff to continuously evolve content and
content strategy to drive interest, interaction, and proliferation
of connections across all audience segments and stakeholders. The
incumbent will work with other social media team members,
management, and other staff to execute organizational communication
strategies for highly visible programs. This position advises and
trains others in social media best practices to advance

Bachelor's degree in
Marketing/Communication/Journalism or related field or equivalent
work experienceMinimum of 2 years of experience and skills in
writing, editing storyboarding and storytelling to develop engaging
and compelling content, including messages and visuals for digital
consumption which embrace and adhere to an organization's brand
standards and communication style guidelines.Experience and skills
to analyze and report performance in various social media channels
and tools; make necessary adjustments and optimize content to meet
goals and objectives.Experienced social media community manager
with ability to identify and escalate issues, as necessary. Skills
to manage customer service issues and coordinate responses to
online questions, comments, and criticism in a timely
manner.Experience creating and working with content/editorial
calendars.Experience and skills to produce high quality, engaging,
and visually interesting still photos and video images/videography
for a variety of communications. Photo editing skills and ability.
Skills and ability to use video editing software.Experience writing
and managing blogs, including growing readership and SEO best
practices.Experience making and delivering engaging presentations
and conducting training.Experience managing organic social media
campaigns.Strong knowledge of and experience with social media
platforms/tools and an understanding of audience demographics and
how they use these tools (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn,
YouTube, TikTok, Reddit, Snapchat, blogs, etc.).Project management
skills and experience to meet deadlines, follow through on
assignments, take direction, attend to and communicate about the
details of any assignment, and juggle multiple competing
priorities. Demonstrate personal initiative and strong
multi-tasking skills. Exceptional ability to always represent the
department and the institution in a highly professional and
appropriate manner. Interpersonal skills to foster positive working
relationships in a high-stress, deadline-driven environment and
communicate effectively with supervisor, other team members and
internal clients.Knowledge of emerging new media trends and user
demographics and use the information to develop content tactics and
strategies.General knowledge of digital audio and video recording
equipment. Experience operating equipment and experience with video
and audio editing software. Experience with live social
broadcasting tools such as Facebook Live, etc.Preferred
Qualifications
Experience executing and managing
results-driven organic and paid social media campaigns. Strong
knowledge and experience creating vertical video for social media
and other digital avenues. Knowledge of and experience working with
social media management tools, such as Sprout, Hootsuite, etc. Key
