The International Shipping Manager supervises and coordinates the activities of the team responsible for picking product and preparing it for same day shipping, both nationally and internationally, via expedited carrier services. They ensure smooth operation of entire shipping department and their main responsibilities, include coordinating the activities of employees engaged in material handling, shipping, storage and transportation.
Primary Responsibilities: - Directing flow of produced goods from multiple buildings and/or vendors - Experience with Freight to include Air/Ocean/Intermodal - Use of internal software programs to produce, route and print shipping documents - Familiar with small parcel software to include UPS and Fed Ex - Knowledge in retail compliance - Working with various carriers to schedule trailer drop off and rotation for shipping launches - Working with production to determine available production counts for shipping to meet delivery commitments - Updating tracking reports in multiple platforms including various platforms used by our clients - Dispatch of Drivers and/or Courier Service - Freight Billing - write and review all invoices for approval and processing by Accounts Payable - Managing shipping personnel at two company facilities to insure proper coverage
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:: --- Minimum of 10 years experience in manufacturing or related Managerial/Leadership role with responsibility for the logistics function - Exceptional International experience to include Trade agreements/Commercial Invoice/Regulatory Compliance, Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Shipper Declarations, USMCA Certifications, Claims process, RMA--- Strong leadership abilities--- Computer proficient with excellent MS office skills specifically Excel--- Effective communication and comprehension skills; verbal and written--- Possess strong math skills--- Possess excellent problem-solving skills--- Ability to function independently, as well as multitask and work as a team--- Must be familiar with freight software (TMS)--- Willingness to take calls or resolve shipping needs outside of normal business hours--- Must have or be able to obtain a forklift operator's license--- Must exercise initiative, judgement, discretion and decision making--- Organized and detail oriented--- Ability to use time productively, efficiently and meet challenging work goals
