ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are reflective of most daily duties. However;
other duties may be assigned as business needs dictate.
- The incumbent is required to perform repairs, preventative
maintenance, installations, and shop infrastructure work as
- Assist other technicians and staff as needed. Work may include
pick-up and delivery of equipment, field service, shop
service/repairs, calibration, and preventative maintenance of
refrigerated (and some non-refrigerated) scientific equipment
including freezers, refrigerators, lyophilizers, vacuum pumps, and
other types of equipment.
- Provides support for servicing customers' specialty equipment
- May be required to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime and
"on-call" as needed.
- Technical Support:
- This may include physical involvement in the field repair or
diagnosis of equipment.
- Foster a positive work relationship with clients, vendors and

Work order management:
- Review work orders including, but not limited to: written work
- Maintain labor and material costing requirements on all
- Customer Service:
- Brings escalated customer issues to the attention of the Field
- Support the goals of the Service department to achieve
installation, sales and collection budgets on weekly/monthly
- Management of personal company issued vehicle maintenance which
includes scheduling, upkeep and inventory in conjunction with
- Perform any reasonable request as directed by management.

High School Diploma and two years related experience and/or
training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Successful completion of Cascade Thermal Solutions training
program. Prior supervision experience in scientific or specialized
refrigeration, sterilization or HVAC preferred.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and internet functions is
required; accounting and construction software packages
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,
operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to
speak effectively to customers, vendors and managers via phone and
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of
measure, using whole numbers. Ability to calculate figures and
amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions and

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly

is often required to stand, reach with hands and arms, climb

concrete surfaces. The employee may occasionally be required to
lift and/or move up to ninety (90) pounds. Specific vision
abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision
and ability to adjust focus. Prosthetic or mechanical substitutes
for many of the above tasks are acceptable.
